Miles & More represents one of the most popular flyer programs in all of Europe as it has about 15 mil members. This program belongs to Lufthansa and it is now used by nearly 13 airlines in Europe. With this program you can redeem some of your miles and get free tickets. To get into the program you do not have to pay anything. The program consists of 3 types of miles.
The Award miles
The miles are collected in one account and they can be used to get merchandise, flights, upgrades and other items from Lufthansa partners. The members have a 36 months validity for their points. After that time, they expire. But for Senators, Frequent Travelers, and also the HON Circle Card holders, these miles do not expire. But once the client is not a member of these categories, the points expire. There are some Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard) clients that have these privileges too.
Status miles
These types of miles can be received when flying in all the partner airlines. At each end of the year, these status miles will expire. The status miles are sometimes used to recognize the loyal members.
HON Circle miles
These miles are easily earned if one person flies in the integrated airlines and also in Air-Rail train in Deutschland. One must get 600.000 miles in 2 whole calendar years. A few years ago one person could also collect these miles if you were using United Airlines but now it is not possible anymore. Now the miles must also be accumulated in 2 calendar years. The senators that have more than 300.000 status miles in 2 years can see the circle miles in their account.
